A Thousand Horses raise a glass to the party crowd in their new single, “Drinking Song,” toasting the simple satisfaction of a good-time anthem.
Co-written by the four piece band with Corey Crowder and Kendell Marvel, the high energy rocker finds Michael Hobby, Zach Brown, Graham DeLoach and Bill Satcher returning to their swampy Southern-rock roots, filled with 100-proof guitars and sawtoothed vocals. With a full-speed-ahead theme, the track will certainly make a worthy soundtrack to boozy Friday night … and Saturday night … and maybe part of Sunday afternoon, too.
“Everybody loves a drinking song / To get you going when the week’s been long / It goes good with a drink too strong / A glass raised every time it comes on / Everybody in the party crowd / Yeah, they only wanna sing it loud / And even if you get the words all wrong / Everybody loves a drinking song,” goes the cheers-able chorus.
“Drinking Song” was produced by Grammy winner Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell) and at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A. It marks the second track unveiled from A Thousand Horses’ upcoming sophomore album, which is set for release later this year and also includes the strutting “Livin’ My Best Life.” The band first broke out in 2015 with the platinum certified debut, “Smoke.”
