Aaron Watson celebrates the simple bliss of romance on his new song, “Whisper My Name.”

Written by Watson and Phil O’Donnell (George Strait, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker), the uptempo love song paints a picture of a heart-racing romance and the joys that come with it.

You fire that engine up, feel that four on the floor / Your hands inside my shirt, feet up on the dashboard / I’m still your wildest side and baby, you’re my wildest dream / Take you out and take you home, make a move and make you scream / When you whisper my name,” the Texas native sings on the chorus over foot-tapping drum beats, fiddle and guitar strums.

“‘Whisper My Name’ takes place about 18 years ago when I was touring with my band in an old white van playing for nobody and making no money, but we didn’t have a care in the world,” Watson said. “Life back then was so simple and so was love — that’s what this song is about.”

Just barely over a month since its release, the track has already amassed over half a million streams on Spotify.
