Ashley Cooke Enlists Brett Young for ‘Never Til Now’ Duet

Ashley Cooke has tapped on country superstar Brett Young to offer a duet rendition of her song, “Never Til Now.”

Originally released on her Already Drank That Beer EP last year, the new version features Young going solo on the second verse of the stirring love ballad.

“Out of all the prayеrs I’ve prayed / You’re Hеaven’s answer / Out of all the hell I’ve been through / I never thought you’d be out there / But thank God you were right there,” the hitmaker confesses before joining Cooke on the chorus.

“I never wanted to tap my brakes / I never wanted to settle down / I was always one foot out the door / I never thought about turning ’round / Never saw myself with a white picket fence dug into the ground / Never ’til now,” they harmonize on the sentimental chorus.

“‘Never Til Now’ is a song that has opened so many doors for me already and really changed my life,’ Cooke shares in a press statement. “To be able to bring a superstar like Brett Young onto this song with me is such an honor. I’ve been a fan of Brett’s music since the start and I feel very honored that he believes in the song the way that I do.”

“I first heard this song through my good friend and trusted collaborator Jimmy Robbins,” Young adds. “I loved it immediately and I’m honored to be a part of it with Ashley!”

Since its release, “Never Til Now” has amassed over 30 million streams and 46K user-generated videos on TikTok. Most recently, the song climbed to the No. 1 on SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown.

Last month, Cooke also announced her co-venture record deal with Big Loud Records / Back Blocks Music, a move that has been a long time coming for the previously-independent artist.

“From the second I walked into Big Loud, it felt like home. They met me where I was, recognizing all I had built independently while also showing me how they could pour gasoline on the fire that had already started,” shares the Belmont University alum. “Getting to partner with not only Big Loud but also my champion since day 1, Rakiyah Marshall/Back Blocks, is an absolute dream team and I couldn’t be more excited and confident to be joining the roster.”

Cooke, who was named one of Sounds Like Nashville’s 2022 Artists to Watch and a Hot Country Artist To Watch’ by Spotify, continues to open for Cole Swindell on his Down To The Bar Tour, with additional dates to be announced soon.
