Country singer Ashton Shepherd and critically acclaimed Bluegrass band Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers have unveiled a picturesque video for their duet, “Love in the Mountains.” The track is featured on the latter’s 40th Anniversary Celebration album, which was released last year.

Filmed at Brewer’s family farm in Kentucky, the clip captures both singers performing their lush song against a wintry backdrop out in the woods. In its truest form, this visual embodies the heartwarming and tranquil emotions that nature’s stillness offers.

“The Brewers have become like family to me,” Shepherd tells Sounds Like Nashville. “[This is] a song and video full of warmth and love, [which] I believe the world needs a whole lot more of. I am sincerely excited for the world to hear, see, share and experience ‘Love in the Mountains.’”

“It was such a pleasure to have Ashton Shepherd sing with me on this song,” Brewer adds. “Her voice is much like nature; strong, beautiful, and  incomparable to any other force. She is a song’s best friend.”

On the song’s subject, the frontman of the six generation family band reflects, “The mountains have always been a big part of my life. Their majestic beauty is a sight to behold. People long for love in the mountains; for the peace and tranquillity it brings to the soul. It’s a place where nature happens and is comparable only to music and music only to true love.”

Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers’ star-studded 40th Anniversary Celebration record features collaborations with artists such as T. Graham Brown, Sam Bush, The Travelin’ McCourys, Dale Ann Bradley, Doug Phelps (of The Kentucky Headhunters), Ralph Stanley II and more. The 14-track album has also spent the last 34 weeks in the Top Five on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart, peaking at No. 1 for multiple weeks. It currently sits at No. 2.

Shepherd, on the other hand, has been continuing to strike out on her own as an independent country artist. The singer’s signature record was her 2011 sophomore effort, Where Country Grows. Released via MCA Nashville/Universal Music Group, the LP featured the title track and rollicking breakup anthem, “Look It Up.” Since parting ways with the label, Shepherd has continued to bring her songs to fans on the road. Her latest release is the single, “This Heart Won’t Break,” which dropped in 2019.
