Emerging country artist Ben Gallaher is gearing up to release his Every Small Town EP tomorrow, June 25. The five-track collection, produced by Mickey Jack Cones (Thomas Rhett, Jason Aldean) and Derek George (Randy Houser, Joe Nichols), marks the singer’s debut project with Quartz Hill Records. To countdown to the EP’s release, Gallaher is premiering his Track By Track video exclusively here on Sounds Like Nashville.

“To me, country music is the soundtrack to everyday life. That’s what these songs are about: the American spirit, family, community, love, loss, God, hard work and being proud of who you are and where you’re from,” Gallaher shares of his debut EP, which he also co-wrote.

Its rollicking title track paints a vividly beautiful picture of both small town lifestyle and the American dream. “There’s a dream, we all dream / You work hard, and you can have anything / Little house on the hill, little left after bills / Yeah man that’s a big deal / In every small town,” the South Central Pennsylvania native sings proudly on a verse.

“To me, ‘Every Small Town’ is God, country, family, friends, hard work, values. Every one of those things is in that song. It’s the way I grew up. It’s the way a lot of us grew up. Even if you live in a big city,” he adds, “chances are you’re from a small town or you’re close to someone who is.”

Elsewhere on the sprightly EP, Gallaher continues giving fans a glimpse to his everyday life—one that most will be able to relate to.

“Get On One” is an uptempo love song with an infectious guitar riff Gallaher formulated, while the anthemic “Never Get Old” features a euphoric singalong chorus that spotlights both the timeless relationships and memories he’s forged along the way. Of the song, Gallaher says it’s not about him defying the ageing process, but rather, going “back to how I was raised, who I am, the fanbase and being cut from the same cloth.”

It is these highly relatable stories and themes that the singer weaves through each of the EP’s songs, which, perhaps, will also be what positions him as a promising star in the format. Every Small Town drops tomorrow, June 25.

Fans can watch Gallaher detail the collection in the special Track By Track video above and pre-save the EP here.
