They say opposites attract, and country star Blake Shelton proves it with hip-hop favorite Pitbull. The unlikely pair find common ground as they share a love of all things “party” in their blood-pumping new “Get Ready” video.

Filled with booty-shaking and splitting its time between Tennessee and South Florida, the hot-and-heavy clip is all about bridging divides in the name of a good time — and how there’s really not so much space between us, at least when it comes to letting loose. The action starts off on Shelton’s turf with a blowout barn bash, before transitioning to a flashy penthouse night cap at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida — but no matter where they are, the language of the party is the same.

First released back in September, the mind-bending mashup appears on Pitbull’s  Libertad 458 album and is based on Ram Jam’s classic rock hit, “Black Betty.” The hit-making rapper explained that he was inspired to put “Get Ready” together after he and Shelton met at a music festival in Oregon, proclaiming the new track to be a musical descendant of Run DMC and Aerosmith’s groundbreaking 1986 rap/rock crossover, “Walk This Way.” “It’s got that big, statement feel to it,” he explained in a behind-the-scenes clip.

Heading in the opposite stylistic direction, Shelton is also featured on country stalwart John Anderson’s new “Tuesday I’ll Be Gone,” which is part of the ’90s icon’s upcoming Years album. Meanwhile Shelton completes his tour of the musical landscape with his current single — a duet with his pop star girlfriend Gwen Stefani on “Nobody But You.”
