Blake Shelton Teams With Brooks & Dunn on Barnstorming ‘Throw It On Back’

Blake Shelton teams with an iconic ’90s duo to celebrate his rowdy past, dropping the barnstorming anthem “Throw It On Back” (featuring Brooks & Dunn).

A twangy boot stomper with a live-concert feel, the track has a throwback feel to match its title — and lyrics meant to make you feel young again. Featuring Ronnie Dunn’s acclaimed vocal and some classic Kix Brooks swagger, the superstars tribute those “good old days” that are worth drinking to, as they think back on the days they felt invincible — especially at the bar.

“Throw It On Back” arrived today (December 3) as part of the deluxe edition of Shelton’s Body Language album, which was originally released in May. The new version adds four more songs including another duet (this time with HARDY), plus the song Shelton wrote for wife Gwen Stefani on their wedding day and his latest single, “Come Back As a Country Boy.”

“We wanted to release this deluxe album because some songs came in at a point in time where I wasn’t ready to make a new album,” said Shelton, “but I wanted to get these songs out there, so that’s what we decided to do. You guys go check it out, we’re very proud of this thing.”

With the single climbing the country radio charts, Shelton recently performed “Come Back As a Country Boy” on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and he can be found each week on the same network for Season 21 of The Voice, which is entering the Top 8 next week.
