Country hitmaker and multi-PLATINUM selling artist Brett Young has dropped an acoustic version of his somber tune, “Don’t Wanna Write This Song,” which is featured on his upcoming The Acoustic Session EP project.

Written by Young, Zach Crowell and Sean McConnell, the song shows a more pensive and emotionally-heavy side of Young, as he aches with questions on why a relationship has to end because “nobody cheated or lied.”

Accompanying the release is a video of Young performing and recording this tune live at the Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN, with fellow writer and longtime collaborator Sean McConnell. The Big Machine recording artist, who has delivered five No. 1 hits such as “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Mercy,” and “Here Tonight,” is undeniably poised to be a true staple in country music.

Playing the Faster Horses stage in Brooklyn, MI, over the past weekend, the California native will continue to travel across the country to bring his music to major festivals, in support of his latest sophomore release, Ticket To L.A. More information on tour dates can be found here.

However, if you’re not able to make it out in person to see Young live, tune in to CMA Fest, the Music Event of Summer, where he will be performing his hits. The show will air on Sunday, August 4 at 8/7c on ABC.
