The last few years have seen an influx of country Christmas albums, but Brett Young has yet to produce a Christmas album of his own. While he did release a one-off Christmas single a few years ago, he says he would love to get into the studio to record a full-length album for the holidays.

“We talked about this a couple of years ago” says Young. “We put out ‘Oh Holy Night’ as a single, and we’ve talked about how we wish we had time to be in the studio long enough to do a record. Then we’ve talked about that two more years in a row.”

The jury is still out on whether Young will confirm a Christmas album release in the next few years, but he says the decision hinges on finding time to do so, which one can assume is a tight resource for Young as a new father to new baby, Presley.

“It really just comes down to time to get into the studio,” he says. “But Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. So, if there was ever time and any sort of demand at all, we would definitely love to get in and make a Christmas record.”

He may not have a Christmas album out yet, but Young got in the Christmas spirit as a performer on this year’s CMA Country Christmas. The show, hosted by Trisha Yearwood, aired Tuesday, December 3 on ABC. He also recently wrapped his tour on December 14, but will pick touring back up in January 2020.
