Brett Young debuted a tender, tears-of-joy tribute to the women in his life at a recent concert, introducing “Lady” in honor of his wife, Taylor, and infant daughter, Presley.

Performed during the New York City stop of his Chapters Tour on Saturday (February 1), the heartstring-tugging ballad gave fans a clear view of the massive love Young has for his new family. Built on a pristine piano melody and his hushed vocal, it’s a message to Presley about what she means to Young and what he hopes she’ll become — filled with loving lyrics about how amazing her mom is. Delivered live for the first time, Young’s from-the-heart standout was still so fresh it was clearly hard for him to sing without crying, while candid photos flashed on a screen behind him.

“I hope you look just like your mama / Love her like I do / You’ll see comfort, perfect patience / If you watch her every move / You can always run to daddy / You’ll always be my baby / Look at her, baby girl / And you’ll learn, how to be a lady,” goes the chorus.

In addition to debuting “Lady,” Young shared the story behind his heart-pounding single “Catch.”

“Before we even announced ‘Catch’ as a single, I had a concept for the video in my mind. It is an interpretation of my life’s journey and I want to share that connection with my fans. Life will definitely throw curveballs and it is about trusting that God has a plan for you.”

The California native will continue his headlining Chapters Tour through May and then join Jason Aldean’s We Back Tour in the late summer.
