Country crooner Brett Young has updated the Christmastime classic, “Silver Bells,” adding a few modern “bells and whistles” of his own.

Still resounding with holiday majesty but now featuring a grooving, R&B-style beat, Young’s reimagined “Silver Bells” shines in the crowded country-Christmas field — and it allows his magnetic vocal to ring like a bell. Full of character and backed with lush harmony, his voice flutters over classic lyrics like snow falling in the winter breeze, making for a tune fans will have on repeat all season long.

In deciding to revamp such a memorable Christmas song, Brett Young says “Silver Bells” has always been one of his favorites, so why not make it his own?

“Aside from ‘Silver Bells’ being one of the most well-known classic Christmas songs, it’s specifically always been one of my favorites,” he shared in a press release. “I think a song that’s able to lend itself to so many different versions is a special thing and this one seems to be extremely versatile. Also, it just makes me happy when it comes on, and that’s what Christmas is all about.”

Meanwhile, the artist behind emotional hits like “Catch” and “In Case You Didn’t Know” isn’t alone in promoting his new holiday track. He got a little help from his daughter, Presley, who just turned one in October.

Young’s top 30-and-rising single, “Lady,” is out now, marking another romantic standout that’s this time dedicated to Presley and the singer’s wife, Taylor. It’s also the first single from Young’s next recording project, which has yet to be announced.
