When Cam and her new husband Adam Weaver took to the dance floor for their first time as a married couple, they knew the perfect song for the moment… Miranda Lambert’s “Oklahoma Sky.” The track is one that instantly pulled the couple in and made for the most perfect of moments.

“That song is so much vibe,” Cam told Sounds Like Nashville and other media during a recent interview. “That song, as soon as it starts, it takes you somewhere. I remember Adam and I listening to that album. When we’d go visit his family, they’re originally from Encinitas, or lived in Encinitas. We’d just be driving to the beach and listening to that song. I was like, ‘this is going to be our first dance song.'”

There is no true rhyme or reason as to why the chose the song, but they just knew it was meant to be.

“You can’t really explain why, it just feels right. It feels like a very slow-mo kind of moment, and that’s what that song feels like,” she continued. “I like that I got a long time to just sort of slow dance. Adam, when he dances, he kind of does the thing where you have your hand on the shoulder and then holds your other hand, kind of like this [motions]. It’s so cute.”

The couple exchanged vows in front of 140 guests during their evening ceremony in Joshua Tree, CA on Saturday, Sept. 29. They were then whisked away into a two week honeymoon before returning to the states for Cam to kick off her headlining Burning House Tour this fall.
