Cam Shares Excitement On Having Harry Styles, Sam Smith, Avicii As Writers On New Album
We can’t wait to hear Cam’s new album later this month!
This month, country star Cam will release her highly anticipated sophomore album The Otherside.
The 11-track record will include familiar favorites “Diane,” “Till There’s Nothing Left,” “Redwood Tree” and lead single, “Classic.” In addition, the California native’s forthcoming album will also feature songs penned by pop superstars Harry Styles, Sam Smith and the late Swedish DJ, Avicii, who wrote its title track.
“I have just these incredible co-writers on here that normally you know, you don’t see artists coming on another artist’s album like this,” the singer shared at an ACM Awards press conference.
“To have Harry Styles and Sam Smith and Avicii… The songs themselves are incredible. I’m so grateful to have so many talented, wonderful people give their hearts into this too. So, it’s my baby and a lot of people’s baby.”
The track with Avicii in particular is especially important to the California native, as the EDM DJ died in 2018. “I got to co-write with Avicii before he passed away on this incredible song that I’m obsessed with,” Cam told Katie Neal of RADIO.com. “I felt I had to get this right for his tastes, for how much of a perfectionist he was, and also just for his family and his legacy. I’m so proud of how it came together.”
The Otherside follows Cam’s 2015 debut album, Untamed, which spawned the Grammy-nominated smash hit, “Burning House.” Since its release, the country singer has toured the world, got married, became a new mom and signed a new record deal. All of this and more will be chronicled on her forthcoming sophomore effort, due out on October 30 via Triple Tigers/RCA Records.
