Rising country star Carly Pearce strips down her current single in a rootsy new acoustic video, revealing the raw romantic passion of “Closer to You” during a YouTube Nashville Session.
Flanked by acoustic guitar, dobro and cajon, the hit-making newcomer filmed the clip at Music Row’s Ocean Way Studio. It puts her stunning vocal and all its smooth sensuality on full display – plus a big helping of irresistible desire.
Written by Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Troy Verges, the groove-heavy track is all about a couple desperate to get off the grid and into each other’s arms, and it’s the first taste of Pearce’s upcoming sophomore album. Earlier this year she admitted the new project will feature a collaboration with her fiancé, country singer Michael Ray.
Following her Gold-certified No.1 breakout with the heartbroken “Every Little Thing,” Pearce is up for New Female Artist of the Year at the 54th ACM Awards. The celebration, hosted by Reba McEntire, will take place April 7th in Las Vegas and air live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET. Up next for the Kentucky native is an opening slot on Jason Aldean’s Ride All Night Tour, which begins May 3rd in Montville, CT.
