How much vocal superstardom can one track hold? Country hit makers Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay would like to find out, teaming up for a fresh new collab.

Posting a pair of teaser clips to social media, both Underwood and the duo of Shay Mooney and Dan Smyers are looking forward to the release of “Only Us.”

Underwood made it official on Wednesday (August 1), sharing the news that “Only Us” will be part of the soundtrack to Dear Evan Hansen. The movie is an adaptation of a Tony-award winning Broadway musical of the same name, and the film comes out September 24. But this Friday (September 3), we get to hear “Only Us.”

“I’m so excited to share that I teamed up with @danandshay to record a very special song for the #DearEvanHansenMovie Original Motion Picture Soundtrack!” Underwood wrote. “‘Only Us’ is coming your way this Friday!”

Underwood’s post featured a propulsive, show-tune style track in the background, and likewise, a video shared by Dan + Shay on Instagram gave some more detail. The clip was filmed from behind a soundboard in a recording studio, and showed a whole orchestral string section playing a melody thick with emotional power. The duo tagged Carrie Underwood in that post, but neither teaser included any vocals. We’ll have to wait until Friday for that.

Meanwhile, Underwood is also involved with another superstar duet, appearing on Jason Aldean’s just-released “If I Didn’t Love You.”
