Carrie Underwood and John Legend express the eternal hope of the Christmas season in the new video for “Hallelujah,” bringing the faithful track to life.

Featuring the joyful spiritual blend of two of music’s most celebrated voices, the new holiday original is featured on Underwood’s first Christmas album, My Gift, and it’s video channels a sense of serenity. Full of inclusive, big-thinking metaphors, it finds Underwood and Legend coming in out of the cold to make a new start. With Underwood dressed in white and Legend in black, they light a literal fire in an old church as they sing in gorgeous harmony, bringing warmth to a world that seems stuck in perpetual winter.

It can be viewed on Facebook here.

“Let the world stand still, the church bells ring / Silent night as the angels sing / Hallelujah, Hallelujah / Let the magic warm the moonlit air / Hear the choirs join in singing everywhere / Hallelujah, Hallelujah,” the pair sing in uplifting harmony.

“Hallelujah” was released earlier this year as part of Underwood’s Christmas album debut, My Gift, a project which features 11 holiday tracks and another notable guest appearance — this time by her 5-year-old son, Isaiah, on “Little Drummer Boy.” She’ll share some of those tunes and other favorites with the My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood on HBO Max December 3. Legend is featured once again as a coach on NBC’s The Voice.
