Cassadee Pope Ready for Bold, Confident Next Phase with ‘Summer’ EP

Friday, June 3 begins a new, bold journey for Cassadee Pope.
Just weeks after earning her first No.1 with Chris Young on his song “Think of You,” the season three winner of The Voice is ready to let fans in on what she’s been working on with the four-song Summer EP.
“Summer EP is out and ‘Summer’ is the next single, which I’m so excited about. I feel like the timing is perfect,” Pope told Sounds Like Nashville. “It’s awesome. It’s steamy and a little bit more daring than anything I’ve ever done before.”
Pope, who had a hand in writing three of the four songs appearing on the project, wanted to start a new chapter with the EP.
“I think the vulnerability aspect comes along with anything, but you know, when you write it, it’s a little more scary,” she explained. “You’re putting yourself out there more, but if I didn’t want to stir things up, I definitely wouldn’t have released ‘Summer’ and made this the EP cover and made the video the way it turned out. It’s just something that I feel really strongly about. This next phase is going to be a little bit more bold and confident.”
Coinciding with the release of Summer, the Florida native released the music video for the title track. The clip was filmed in Clearwater Beach, FL and gives fans a glimpse of confident new attitude.
