Country newcomer Caylee Hammack brought her debut single “Family Tree” to the TODAY Show on Wednesday morning (5/29) and was treated to an adorable surprise via Skype.

The 25-year-old made her national TV debut on the TODAY to perform her single “Family Tree,” but not before the show surprised her with her parents live on Skype. Hammack was simply explaining the concept of the music video, how her parents were in it and the convincing it took to have her camera-shy mum to be on TV, and to her surprise, they were both on Skype, waiting to congratulate their daughter.

“My mum I had to strongarm. She doesn’t like to be in front of the camera as much as my Dad does,” Hammack shared candidly about the video, before letting out an exclamation of excitement when surprised with her parents live on the other line.

When asked about the Tupperware lyric in the song, her mum simply shared that she loves Tupperware and how that “might have influenced [Hammack] as a child that [she] likes Tupperware.” Both parents were evidently beaming with joy and pride to see their daughter perform on television for the first time.

“Family Tree” serves as the Capitol Records artist’s debut single on country radio and has already put her on numerous 2019’s artists to watch lists on outlets such as The Bobby Bones Show and HITS Magazine. The fun song blends soul, blues, rock, pop and Hammack’s undeniable country influence all together while showcasing the singer’s strong vocals.

Hammack is slated to perform at this year’s CMA Fest and festivals across the country this summer. For tour dates and more information, click HERE.
