Couples who sing together stay together. Chris Stapleton and his wife, Morgane, took that to heart as they performed the classic tune, “You Are My Sunshine,” with one another on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (Nov. 10).

Taking the well-known track and putting their own rock-country spin on it, the Stapleton duo blew the audience out of the water with their matching raspy vocals. Chris only had eyes for his wife as she cooed over his slow yet sultry guitar riff on the song.

During the performance, the two showed their passion for the song and each other by channeling each other’s loving vibes and harmonizing their voices for the most soothing yet rocked-out version of the light-hearted tune one could ever set their ears upon.

The two were nominated for the CMA Musical Event of the Year with their performance of “You Are My Sunshine” at the 50th Annual CMA Awards, but unfortunately lost out to Dierks Bentley and Elle King’s duet on the hit, “Different for Girls.” Chris did happen to take home the trophy for Male Vocalist of the Year for his signature voice everyone in the genre knows and loves dearly.

“You Are My Sunshine” is featured on the Dave Cobb compilation album, Southern Family, which can be purchased on digital music retailers now.
