Chris Lane casts a line for true love in the oceanside video for his new track, “Fishin’,” singing the aww-shucks anthem on a picturesque Florida beach.

Directed by Justin Clough, the clip was filmed in the Sunshine state’s Pensacola Beach, with warm breezes and sun kissed sand all around. The feel-good video finds Lane chilling on a pier with his guitar and cruising the coast in a boat, all while a young couple fall into each others arms – and hearts.

“Fishin’” was written by Matt Dragstrem, Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Josh Thompson, and features a pure-country turn of phrase. It’s part of his Laps Around the Sun Album and uses its title as a secret code, with a pair of lovers sneaking off to spend some time alone and telling everyone else they’ll just be “fishing.”

“And when they ask us where we’re heading, we’ll say somewhere where they’re biting / Little secret spot hiding and them lighting bugs are bugging / Catch a buzz and catch a feeling, just reeling you in / Stealing kisses, just go missing, when they ask where we’ve been / We’ll call it fishin’,” goes the romantic chorus.

Lane’s current single “I Don’t Know About You” is out now and just broke into country radio’s Top 30. He’ll join Brad Paisley’s 2019 World Tour this summer and later this year heads across the pond for five shows in the U.K. – part of the Country Music Association’s Introducing Nashville series with Danielle Bradbery, Travis Denning and Rachel Wammack.
