Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane delivered a simple, yet beautiful performance of Stapleton’s tune, “Starting Over,” at the 54th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 11.

The performance saw Stapleton, armed with a vintage microphone, a slightly weathered guitar and his one-of-a-kind voice, performing the free-wheeling love song as a simple spotlight shone on him. Shortly into the song, Stapleton’s wife, Morgane, joined him to offer some of her signature harmonies while Stapleton continued picking the guitar. The two finished out the sweet song and were met with roaring applause from the audience.

“Starting Over” was released on August 27 and will serve as the title track of his new album, which comes out on Friday (November 13).

Chris Stapleton was up for two awards going into the night: Male Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year for “Second One To Know.” The latter was won by Miranda Lambert for her “Bluebird” video. Co-hosted by Darius Rucker and Reba McEntire, the 54th Annual CMA Awards aired live on ABC from Nashville’s Music City Center on November 11.
