Hit makers Chris Young and Kane Brown are celebrating a collaborative smash with the buddy-country duet, “Famous Friends,” taking the track all the way to Number One at country radio. The news marks Young’s 12th Number One over all, and chart topper number six for Brown.

Taking to social media, Young noted that each Number One comes with an feeling that’s hard to describe. And it’s all the more unbelievable considering how he started.

“Finding out you have the number one song in Country Music is such a crazy feeling,” Young shared. “My career started with a #37 #52 #37 in that order. If you had asked me if I ever thought I’d be celebrating my 12th number one… just wow… no words. @kanebrown_music so proud to share this one with you brother! Thank you to anyone reading this, @coreycrowder @carybarlowe (my co-writers and CC is my coproducer) , and all of Country Radio for sending this one to the top!!! #FamousFriends  #numberone.”

“Famous Friends” is the title track from Young’s upcoming Famous Friends album, which is set for release on August 6. The fist-pumping hit featured both stars highlighting their small town roots, and treating their life-long pals like A-list celebrities. A fun-filled music video was filmed featuring some of those real-life friends, and the stars also called out their hometown Tennessee counties: Rutherford County for Young and Hamilton County for Brown.

Meanwhile, Chris Young is already prepping to follow his hit up with a new song. He and Mitchell Tenpenny just shot a massive live-audience music video for “At the End of the Bar” in downtown Nashville, and Young recently told fans his next single will be “One of Them Nights.” It’s set to drop this Friday (July 9).
