Chrissy Metz Highlights BFFs in Heartwarming ‘Talking to God’ Video
You can't make old friends.
Actress and country newcomer Chrissy Metz presents a heartwarming story of best friends in the video for her new single, “Talking To God.”
Directed by Stephen Kinigopoulos and Alexa King, the uplifting clip follows a pair of childhood BFFs, showcasing the power of having someone to lean on. Just as Metz sings of hard times in her adult life and thinking of an old friend, the spiritual lyrics and stirring country sonics are brought to life. Two young girls grow up sharing everything as next door neighbors, but when one moves away, it’s many years (and a children’s book) before they’re reconnected. But no matter the distance, their bond is forever.
“The song is so special to me,” explains Chrissy. “The first time I heard it, I was like ‘Oh, this is me.’ I wish I would have written the song, but I surely have lived it because we all know what it’s like to make decisions we regret or think about people who are no longer in our lives.”
“I was talkin’ to God last night / About why things happen the way they do / Yeah, and He shed a little light / On why I’m goin’ through, what I’m goin’ through / Everything under the sun / Why some get it all / And some people fall out of love / I was talkin’ to God last night / Your name came up,” goes the chorus.
“Talking to God” is part of the upcoming debut recording project for Chrissy Metz, which has yet to be announced. The award-winning actress started her country career after portraying Kate Pearson on NBC’s acclaimed series, This Is Us, along with a starring role in the 2019 film Breakthrough. Her previously released tracks include “I’m Standing With You,” “Actress” and “Feel Good.”
