Nineties favorite Clay Walker knows there are lots of reasons to drink — more now then ever, it seems.

People “Need a Bar Sometimes,” and his wistful new single captures that sentiment with a timeless, windblown charm. Meanwhile, a new lyric video goes shot-for-shot with the track’s easy-going hook.

Filmed on a bar top with the song’s lyrics going by on bottles, napkins and a full-size Jenga game, the clever clip helps listeners get acquainted with Walker’s newest release.

“We all need a bar sometimes / Lean back with a long neck on a neon night / Somewhere you can sip and unwind / Or hang out with the party crowd till closing time / You might be drowning her leaving / Or just here drinking / But we all need a bar sometimes,” goes the easy-going chorus.

“Need a Bar Sometimes” was written by the hit maker with George Birge, Jaron Boyer and Josh Mirenda, and marks his first release produced by new studio collaborator Michael Knox — who also produces Jason Aldean. Boyer co-produced the tune and Clay Walker debuted it on The Bobby Bones Show recently, talking new music and family life with his wife, Jessica.

More of that new music is expected to arrive this year, which Walker opened up about to Sounds Like Nashville in July. And he and Jessica are currently expecting their fifth child together.
