CMA Announces New Single and Music Video ‘Forever Country’ for CMA Awards

Celebrating the 50th Annual CMA Awards, CMA has announced that they will be releasing a new single and music video for “Forever Country,” a track that will feature 30 CMA Award-winning artists.

“’Forever Country’ is a moving tribute to Country Music, Country Music fans, and the artists who have built this format into what it is today,” said CMA Chief Executive Officer Sarah Trahern. “This music video is the product of the CMA Board of Directors who came together in support of this project as a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the CMA Awards, a statement on the heritage and future of the Country Music industry, and a reflection of this year’s Awards theme — ‘Then. Now. Forever Country.’”

Throughout the past week, many of the artists involved have posted little teasers here and there to get fans amped up for the song. While it’s still unknown what the video will look like in full, it will be set to a similar medley of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again.”

The single, which was produced by CMA Award winner and Nashville songwriter Shane McAnally, plans to have a massive radio release on Friday, September 16 with various radio stations across the nation airing the song at 8:30 a.m. ET. Even more thrilling, the track is set to play on a few international stations as well, bringing the whole world together in light of country music.
