A behind-the-scenes hitmaker steps into the spotlight for Mother’s Day this year, as Corey Crowder sends out a country music thank-you titled “My Poor Mama.”

Featuring a bluesy groove and low-slung guitars, Crowder’s deeply resonate vocal and a rocking beat, the wild-child anthem is all about the things every mom deserves — especially considering the hell kids like him put them through. A place in the Bahamas? Yup. Private jet? That goes without saying. How about her very own basketball team? Why not, she earned it!

“My poor mama, man I put her through hell / She drained her savings account, keeping me out of jail / My poor mama, man I swear she’s a saint / She put in the overtime and never got paid / If saving my can was worth a million dollars / Nobody’d be richer than my poor mama,” goes the fun-loving chorus.

Known best as a co-writer and producer on Music Row, Crowder earned his stripes for his work with Chris Young (I’m Comin’ Over, Losing Sleep). Lately he’s been working with the guys in Florida Georgia Line as part of their Tree Vibez Music publishing team, even co-penning and producing their new single, “I Love My Country.” It was FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley who convinced him to release the track on his own — and probably to release it on Mother’s Day weekend, too! Sure is a lot more creative than a card and flowers, that’s for sure.

Having pursued a career as an artist earlier in life, Crowder is no stranger to making music of his own. And judging by his social media, there may be more coming soon.
