Fans of Dan + Shay have apparently been good this year, because the duo have unwrapped the new holiday original, “Take Me Home For Christmas.”

An easy addition to your favorite holiday playlist, the track features plenty of warmth and a dash of open-hearted cheer. It finds the duo’s Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney taking a musical trip to a crush’s hometown — and falling in love all over again. With a swaying beat perfect for slow dancing by the fire, and a vocal blend brighter than a Christmas tree, it’s the gift fans have had on their list for years.

“This is our first original Christmas song, and we had a blast writing and recording it,” Smyers said. “It was cool to get in the holiday spirit a little early this year, because I think we could all use some extra positivity and cheer. Our fans have asked for Christmas music every year, so I hope you all have as much fun listening to it as we did making it.”

“Baby, won’t you take me home for Christmas / Show me ’round your town / Take me where you used to watch the snow come down / Honor your traditions, I wanna know ‘em all / You’ll check every box off of my list / If you take me home for Christmas,” goes the joyful chorus.

On a different emotional note, Dan + Shay recently released their brokenhearted single, “I Should Probably Go To Bed.” They’re riding high as they head into the holidays this year, with four nods at next week’s 54th Annual CMA Awards and a big performance spot on the show. Taking place Wednesday (November 11) at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC, they’ll be joined by Justin Bieber for the television premiere of their chart-topping “10,000 Hours.”
