Last night (June 25), Dan + Shay appeared on The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo to perform their rendition of the Sesame Street classic, “I Don’t Want to Live on the Moon.”

The country duo were a welcome addition to the Sesame Street spin-off, as they delivered a stripped-down version of the children’s song. “Though I’d like to look down at the earth from above / I would miss all the places and people I love / So although I may go, I’ll be coming home soon / ‘Cause I don’t want to live on the moon,” the pair sing wistfully, with perfect harmonies.

Hosted by the beloved furry red Muppet, The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo launched on streaming platform HBO Max on May 27, 2020. Each of the 13 weekly episodes highlights different parts of kids’ bedtime routines, making it the perfect way for both kids and parents to unwind together at the end of the day.

Every episode, Elmo invites his celebrity guest friends on to the show to entertain families with music, games, and fun—with Cookie Monster as his sidekick, other Sesame Street pals as backstage crew, and even his very own house band! Other guests featured include Lil Nas X, the Jonas Brothers, Jimmy Fallon, Hoda Kotb, H.E.R., John Mulaney, Olivia Wilde and more.

The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo is now available for streaming on HBO Max.
