Dan + Shay Premiere ’19 You + Me’ Music Video
Hot new duo Dan + Shay, who just earned their first ACM nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year, recently released the much-anticipated music video for their debut single, “19 You + Me.”
The duo was excited to work on their first music video, which was shot in the city the song is centered around late last year. “We shot it in Myrtle Beach which was actually really cool and the city was amazing to us,” Dan + Shay tell CountryMusicIsLove. “They took us in with open arms and helped us out with a lot of stuff. It was just really cool to be there. They made it a cool experience.”
The production behind the shoot was also an eye-opening experience for the singers. “There was a lot of crew there filming. There was one moment where we looked out and there were fifty people out filming our music video and we’re like, ‘This is all because of a song we wrote in somebody’s basement.’ It’s crazy to see that progress.”
Although you may not be able to tell from the finished product, the music video was filmed on a very chilly day. “We filmed it in the winter so it was a little difficult because there were actors and actresses going in the water and ocean,” they told CMIL with a laugh, “We didn’t have to do that. We were lucky. We were sitting there with warm coffees. The actual temperature was nice, but the water was freezing cold and we were sitting there watching them have to do these pool scenes. It was like, ‘Oh my gosh I’m sorry about this guys. I apologize.'”
