Dan + Shay Share Touching Musical Tribute to Troy Gentry

Much like the rest of the country music community, Dan + Shay were shocked and saddened by the devastating news of Troy Gentry’s untimely death.
Upon hearing the news, the duo shared a touching musical tribute in honor of Gentry, who tragically died early that day in a helicopter accident in New Jersey.
Before singing Montgomery Gentry’s chart-topping hit, “Something To Be Proud Of,” the duo shared their condolences to Gentry’s friends and family.
“So today we heard the tragic news of Troy Gentry’s passing and our thoughts and our prayers go out to his family and his friends,” Dan Smyers began.
“We’ve always looked up to those guys and it was always such an honor to share the stage with them,” Shay Mooney added. “Today, in honor of Troy, we’re gonna do one of our favorite songs of all time, ‘Something To Be Proud Of.'”
Dan + Shay then sang a portion of the song, doing it justice with their incredible harmonies.
