Dan + Shay are setting off on The (ARENA) Tour this week, and the duo teased on social media that they’ll be stripping down their shows. The duo shared a video of them rehearsing “Irresponsible,” a track from their latest album, Good Things, with only piano and guitar instrumentation. In the caption, the duo hinted at performing an acoustic set and even taking requests from their fans during their shows.
“rehearsing IRRESPONSIBLE because we *might* do an acoustic set and *might* take different different requests every night on THE (ARENA) TOUR. is that something you *might* be interested in?” wrote the group.
Dan + Shay are finally kicking off the trek in Greenville, SC this Thursday, September 9th after originally postponing the tour in March 2020 after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The group initially rescheduled the tour for July 2020 and then eventually pushed it back to its current position in fall 2021. The duo will also head to Charlottesville, VA and Uncasville, CT on their opening weekend.
In addition to readying their tour, Dan + Shay have been celebrating the recent release of their new album, Good Things, which came out on August 13.The project features 12 tracks, including their latest hits, “10,000 Hours” featuring Justin Bieber, “I Should Probably Go To Bed,” and “Glad You Exist.” The duo also shocked fans last week with the reveal of “Only Us,” a duet with Carrie Underwood featured on the original motion picture soundtrack for upcoming movie, Dear Evan Hansen.
“We are @carrieunderwood superfans and it has always been a dream to collaborate with her,” wrote the duo on social media. “We are also @dearevanhansen superfans and the fact that we got to record “only us” for the @dearevanhansenmovie soundtrack is quite possibly the coolest thing that’s ever happened to us.”
