The British are coming! The British are coming!

Nashville will be saying cheers to artists from overseas as Decca Records partners with Basement East to host some British country artists during Whiskey Jam on Tuesday, June 7. The UK label will present their artists alongside some American artists for the event, which will be free to the public.

The connection between Nashville and London has grown closer over the past few years thanks to the development of country music abroad. Decca Records wanted to expand their music horizons by introducing a new sound to their homebase audience with artists like Rhys Lewis and duo Ida Mae leading the pack. Artists Josh Kelley, Kandace Springs and Larkin Poe have also been announced to join the eclectic lineup for the night as well.

“I believe this credo explains the strength of the bond between London and Nashville’s music communities, and why we chose to have this first of its kind concert in Nashville.  Our team has long had an interest in and connection with all of the types of music that come out of this area.  Likewise we found a kindred spirit with the great music that can be found on any given night at a Whiskey Jam presentation,” said Rebecca Allen, managing director at Decca Records/UK.

Besides Lewis and Ida Mae, artists like John and Jacob and Betti will perform during the Whiskey Jam. More artists have yet to be announced, but Whiskey Jam is known for bringing out some of the best that Nashville has to offer.

Whiskey Jam started as a casual party involving good friends and good music back in 2011. Since then, the weekly live music hangout has turned into a hot spot for the best talent in Nashville. Noting that the event with Decca Records is set during the week of CMA Music Fest, something big is bound to happen.

Whiskey Jam will kick off at 7:30 pm on June 7 at the Basement East in Nashville and will be free to all in attendance. Guests must be 18 and over to enter the event.
