“Somewhere on a Beach,” the much-anticipated new single from Dierks Bentley, made its debut a Country radio today.
The song, which is the lead single from Bentley’s forthcoming new album, BLACK, is told from the perspective of a heartbroken guy who decides to get over his breakup by jetting south to kick it on the beach. While there, he meets a new woman who has “got it goin’ on” and spends his days drinking and nights partying.
Bentley describes the album as a “relationship album.”
“To do it right, I had to dig deep as a writer, dig into the Nashville songwriting community, and record songs that explore the shadows and edges of the heart,” the Arizona native said when the record was announced. “The songs on BLACK range from the lonesomeness of an impossible relationship to ones that describe the feeling of finding that person that makes you forget the one that broke your heart.”
“Somewhere on a Beach” will make its television debut when Bentley performs the song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show later this week. Listen to the song below.
