Elle King and Miranda Lambert Drop the Beat on Dance Remix of ‘Drunk’
Elle King and Miranda Lambert kicked off the 56th annual ACM Awards with a leather-clad, rocked-up version of their new duet, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” But now, they’ve given the track a glittery facelift, dropping a dance remix with Nashville-based DJ Goldhouse.
Pairing the original track’s brash attitude and live-for-the-night theme with a propulsive new beat, the remix takes on the club-thumping feel of a sparkly “going-hard” anthem. Propulsive rhythms and sweeping electronic sounds pump up the energy, while the joyful vocals remain on top of the mix, making it the perfect soundtrack for late-night dance party.
The track arrives just as the singers are returning to dance-able stages of their own, with both embracing plans to get back in front of audiences. Miranda Lambert just finished up a five-night stand at the “World’s Largest Honky Tonk,” her first live-audience shows at Billy Bob’s Texas, and a press release recounted the night as a triumphant return to her roots, filled with gratitude on Lambert’s part.
“It felt amazing to be in front of a live audience, sharing that energy and sense of community that we’ve all missed so much,” she said. “I’m so thankful to Billy Bob’s for creating an environment night-after-night to make sure we could all enjoy those moments together, safely.”
King, meanwhile, will hit the road in July on Chris Stapleton’s All American Road Show Tour, kicking off July 28 in Gilford, New Hampshire, an is expecting her first child with fiancé Dan Tooker.
