Eric Church thanks his unseen supporters in “Doing Life With Me,” the latest new track in a string of 2020 releases.

Featuring a gentle sound rooted in gratitude and down-home wisdom, the breezy midtempo tributes the parts of a musician’s life the camera never captures. It’s not easy to live with someone like himself, Church sings, with his voice backed in easy rolling acoustic guitars and mandolins, and it’s often a thankless job. But without the love and steadfast care of friends, family and crew members, he’d have gone crazy long ago.

“I don’t pray much anymore / For this old troubadour’s / Happiness, wishes, wants and needs / End of my ropes, hopes and dreams / Spend my livin’ giving thanks / For the ships I never sank / Every big, every little in the everyday things / The notes and the words and the songs I sing / To the ones doing life with me,” goes the heartfelt chorus.

“Doing Life With Me” was written by Church with Casey Beathard and Jeffrey Steele during his now-infamous marathon writing session in a North Carolina cabin, which found the hit maker writing and recording a whole song each day for nearly a month in 2019. Has previously released full tracks like “Hell Of A View,” “Stick That In Your Country Song,” “Bad Mother Trucker,” “Crazyland” and “Through My Ray-Bans,” as well as a number of previews.

There’s no word yet on when fans can expect the full project those songs will be included on, but Eric Church was recently celebrated as the 54th Annual CMA Awards’ Entertainer of the Year, and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Solo Country Performance (“Stick That In Your Country Song”).
