Faith Hill Dedicates Gospel Song to Late Mother

Faith Hill is honoring the recent passing of her mother with something her mom always asked of her: to sing gospel music.

While Hill isn’t releasing a full gospel project, she did channel the faithful genre on one of her many tracks from her latest release, Deep Tracks. Known for her soulful voice and expansive vocal range, the country singer is no stranger to devoting herself to her craft in the way that gospel music sounds. In a sweet Facebook post on her page, Hill discusses her reasoning behind putting the song, “Come to Jesus,” alongside her country-heavy tracklist.

“Three weeks ago today my mom passed away. Mom often asked if I l would ever get around to recording a gospel album. That’s all she wanted to hear me sing. I’m thankful that she was able to hear this song before she took a seat on the glory train. This is “Come To Jesus” dedicated to my mom,” wrote Hill.

Deep Tracks marks Hill’s last album released on her longtime record label, Warner Bros. Records, and features non-single tracks from her previous collection of albums.

After Hill recovers from her recent foot surgery, she’ll be heading out on the road with her husband, Tim McGraw, on their Soul2Soul Tour. The tour is set to have more than 65 dates across the country for fans to come and see the power country couple do their thing together yet again. Fans can find more information and details about the tour on the tour’s website.
