Rising country singer Filmore has released an acoustic version of his current and debut single “Slower.” The uptempo finger-snapping song has already been lauded as “the song of the summer” by NBC’s TODAY

Although Filmore only signed to Curb Records this year, the singer has been having massive success in the streaming world. To date, “Slower,” for example, has amassed over a whopping 26 million on-demand streams-and-climbing. He also made his Grand Ole Opry debut earlier in June this year.

Growing up, the Wildwood, Missouri, native was exposed to an eclectic mix of music across all genres.

“I grew up listening to all types of music – my parents music, the internet, and the radio stations in my hometown. From high school to college and then Nashville, my music influences just kept growing, and continue to,” shares Filmore. “I found my musical sound by being completely true to myself. The motto I’ve built my career and music upon is ‘anything but typical.’ I’ve been in Nashville seven years, and in the last couple it feels like I’ve hit a groove musically and on the road.”

His single was also co-written by Filmore himself, with Steven Dale Jones and Justini Ebach. This acoustic release join the singer’s other recent new releases: “Livin’ Easy” and “Other Girl.” A debut full studio album is set to follow later this year.

Apart from new music releases, Filmore has also been busy working his tour schedule this year. He will soon set off on his headlining The Slower Tour with openers Alana Springsteen and Niko Moon, before joining Lauren Alaina on her That Girl Was Me Tour this fall.
