Fresh from his headlining Slower Tour, which wrapped in early November, country singer-songwriter Filmore is back in action with his brand-new track, “London,” which dropped Friday, Nov. 22.

“As I continue to put out new music, I want to share more of both who I am as an artist as well as my personal experiences with fans,” the Missouri native shared. “this song felt like the perfect place to start sharing the state I’m in.”

Written by Filmore and John Luke Carter, the song is an up-tempo, folk-rock influenced breakup anthem about someone experiencing a place that they originally planned on visiting with an ex.

“I feel guilty, and I don’t know how to tell you/ I saw London without you,” the up-and-comer sings in the first chorus over a twangy set of guitar chords. Though the lyrics detail heartbreak, a pulsing drum beat, folky snares and uplifting backup vocals elevate the track to a foot stomping jam.

Filmore also dropped the music video for “London,” which was directed by Dusty Barker and filmed during a 48-hour trip to the city that served as the song’s inspiration.

“With my tour schedule, it was a crazy trip,” the singer said. “We visited every spot I mention in the song, along with some placed I always wanted to see.”

Though the musician walked around eight miles a day, he still thought it was a cool experience to relive moments he wrote about.

Filmore will see London, England, again in 2020 when he performs at the city’s O2 Arena as part of C2C: Country to Country with additional European dates to be announced soon. He will also join country starlet Lauren Alaina on her That Girl Was Me Tour, which kicks off at Exit/In in Nashville, Tennessee, on Jan. 15.
