Florida Georgia Line and Nelly go waaaaaay back. But they get a “Lil Bit” closer for their latest collab.

Teaming up for the grooving country-rap anthem, “Lil Bit,” the country duo and hip-hop favorite reunite for a Nashville hang in superstar style.

Centered around the old friends getting back together, the clip finds FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley playing host to their out-of-town buddy, who needs a four-wheel-drive lift from the airport. Tyler plays chauffeur while BK waits at their tour-bus setup, and once the friends get reacquainted, the party is on. And according to Nelly, that’s pretty much how the video shoot went, too.

“It’s me going to Nashville just to hang out with the guys,” he tells PEOPLE about the clip. “Getting picked up by Tyler, going to meet BK and we just having fun just a little bit, you know what I mean? And kind of having a kickback, meet out at the lake. … We shot the video in Nashville and it was dope, man. We just had a lot of fun with it.”

Featuring a flirtatious flow and laid-back beat, Nelly first released “Lil Bit” in October while he was competing on Dancing With the Stars. It’s the first single off his upcoming country-influenced EP, The Heartland (which is expected later this summer), and Nelly says his FGL pals are more than just collaborators at this point.

“They are family, they are like little brothers and it’s really great when you can see people who you care for so much, grow and become single bachelors into these married guys with kids, and being able to make their dreams come true,” he explains. “Not just for themselves, but also for their families as well.”

Florida Georgia Line and Nelly first teamed up for a massively popular remix of FGL’s breakout hit, “Cruise,” and the rapper has also “gone country” with Tim McGraw (2014’s “Over and Over”) and Kane Brown (2020’s “Cool Again”), among other crossover forays. “Lil Bit” also appears on Florida Georgia Line’s fifth studio album, Life Rolls On.
