Country icon Garth Brooks keeps the classic image of a lonesome rodeo cowboy alive in his latest single, living one ride and one night at a time in “That’s What Cowboys Do.”

Released as the fifth single from his latest album, Fun, the pure-country ballad features a gentle sway and a timeless theme. Brooks plays a cowboy who can’t be tamed, drifting from one rodeo arena and one bed to the next. But backed by fiddle, a loping beat and his dusty vocal grit, the superstar nearly finds himself roped into love.

“But a cowboy’s always got somewhere to go / Another song to sing, another day to save, another rodeo / They’re always leavin’ town, chasin’ sunsets down / It ain’t nothin’ new / Yeah, they’re just passin’ through / That’s what cowboys do,” goes the tune.

The track follows the recently shared cover of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” from A Star Is Born, which Garth Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, recorded as a duet. Previous singles from Fun include “Dive Bar” with Blake Shelton, which is the only track from the project to crack the Top 10 of Billboard’s Country Airplay radio chart. But even if Brooks is no longer dominating radio playlists, he’s still on top of the concert-touring game.

The legendary performer is currently rehearsing to get his multi-year Stadium Tour back underway, and gunning to break more attendance records in massive venues across the country. Brooks just announced his first ever stadium show in Nashville, coming to Nissan Stadium July 31, and his next shows include sold out gigs in Las Vegas (July 10) and Salt Lake City (July 17).
