George Strait toasts the good life and good tequila in the sun-kissed video for his new track, “Código.”

Written by the Country Music Hall of Fame member with his son, Bubba, and longtime writing partner Dean Dillon, the song is a classic country two stepper with a smile-inducing buzz, dedicated to his own Código brand of tequila. Strait is an investor in the upscale spirit, which he told Fortune magazine was the best he’d ever tasted back in 2017.

“Back in the days when my friends and I drank tequila, it was always ‘Let’s do a shot!’ Bring out those limes and the salt and we would want to get the taste out of our mouths as fast as we could,” he explained. “This tequila isn’t like that. I wouldn’t think of sucking on a lime after I drank Código.”

The Polly Burokas-directed clip pulls double duty, serving as a quasi-commercial but also a traditional music video featuring his wife of almost 50 years, Norma Jean. Filmed in Mexico where Código is made, Strait first appears in a dusty barrelhouse, sitting down with a guitar and a friend to get the song started. He can then be seen exploring vast fields of agave plants and performing at a relaxing picnic, with plenty of tequila to go around. Norma Jean, who rarely makes public appearances, can be seen early in the clip hoisting a glass, and later on dancing with Strait as the sun sets.

“Código” appears on Strait’s 30th studio album, Honky Tonk Time Machine, which is out now. The album features twelve songs in total, including a collaboration with Willie Nelson (“Sing One With Willie”) and the current Top 20 single, “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar.”

Strait performed at Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium over the weekend, and has more stadium shows on tap this summer – including a recently announced Gillette Stadium gig with Blake Shelton, Cody Johnson and Caitlyn Smith on August 17th. He’ll perform alongside Miranda Lambert at the 54th ACM Awards on April 7th, airing live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET.
