High Valley Reveal the Secret Desire of a ‘Single Man’ in New Single

Brother duo High Valley offer a hearts-on-fire tribute to commitment with their new single, “Single Man,” turning long-held stereotypes about men and the single life upside down.

With a pulse-raising tempo driven by hand claps and a hard-chopping banjo, the anthemic track mixes bluegrass tradition with electro-pop energy and pure-country heart. It’s out now as the lead track from Brad and Curtis Rempel’s upcoming second album, and the song’s theme should touch the romantic soul of women and men alike. It was written by Brad with Derrick Southerland and Jordan Schmidt, all about the fact that deep down, every “Single Man” is really just trying to find “the one.”

“I don’t know a single man / Who’d pick the kick of whiskey over your kiss / Who’d pick a neon night over a night like this / Stay young forever over growing old with you / I don’t know a single man / That ain’t out looking for what I’ve got / That wouldn’t die to be where I am / No I don’t know, I don’t know a single man,” goes the passionate chorus.

With more than 20 years of marriage between them, the Canadian natives definitely know what they’re talking about.

“Sometimes being single looks really fun,” Brad explains. “Wild, free, less responsibility… but my wife and kids are so amazing that I honestly don’t know a single man who wouldn’t want to trade places with me!”

High Valley broke out in the U.S. with 2016’s Gold certified hit, “Make You Mine,” then followed up with the release of their Dear Life major label album debut and 2017’s “She’s With Me.” That harmony-heavy standout peaked at Number Seven on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, marking High Valley’s first Top 10 hit on American radio.
