The Hot Country Knights put their love of the ’90s on full blast in the video for “Pick Her Up” (featuring Travis Tritt), their first single since scoring a 30-years-in-the-making record deal.
Starring Saved By the Bell’s Tiffany Thiessen and featuring ’90s icon Tritt, the mullet-rocking clip includes plenty of skin-tight jeans and wrap-around shades, as the band’s Doug Douglason helps a total zero transform into a pre-Y2K hero. Directed by Wes Edwards and delivered with a tongue buried deep in country’s proverbial cheek, it’s the perfect neon-colored introduction to a band that’s all about taking country back to it’s glory days.
“Travis Tritt is our longtime spirit animal and we have spent many a long night in the back of the van dreaming of working with or maybe even FOR Tiffani,” Douglason says in a statement. “When [Universal Music Group] finally came around and signed us … they were two of our demands for the music video.”
Co-written and produced by Dierks Bentley with Jim Beavers and Brett Beavers, the track is built on the bright, blaring guitar riffs and high energy fiddles of live ’90s country — a sound the Knights took to fans on the road last year with Bentley’s Burning Man Tour. “Pick Her Up” is just the first taste of the Knight’s long-awaited album debut, so stay tuned for more!
