“Fresh faced” “newcomers” Hot Country Knights doubled down on their ’90s love on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week, making their late-night TV debut with a two pack of twangy, throwback country.
Starting off with the touching tenderness of their newly released “Asphalt,” the six piece group successfully introduced their timeless style to the nation — complete with acid-washed jeans, mullets and their patented hip-thrusting dance moves. They even got a nice introduction from longtime admirer Dierks Bentley, and later on cranked up the volume for a rollicking cover of Marty Stuart and Travis Tritt’s “Honky Tonkin’s What I Do Best.”
It was the cap of what could prove to be a milestone trip for the rising band, who up until now have spent most of their 30-year “career” playing a wing joint in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. So, like any group of first-time Hollywood visitors, the guys decided to do a little sight seeing while they were in town, strolling the Walk of Fame and even finding a little spot that reminded them of home.
