Country music has grown far past the borders of the United States and has caught the attention of those overseas in the U.K., Australia and other countries around the world. With the mecca of country music here in Nashville, it’s no wonder artists from across the globe are trekking to CMA Music Festival to play.

The Country Music Association will host CMA World GlobaLive! on June 6 to showcase all of the international talent that finds inspiration within Music City’s roots. The showcase is free to the public and will be held on the outdoor stage outside of the Hard Rock Café on Broadway.

The event itself started back in 2004 and has become an incredible platform for international artists to get their feet wet in the country music capital. Performers will come from near and far to play their original songs to an audience as diverse at the lineup.

“This event continues to grow along with CMA’s strategic focus on developing markets outside of the United States for Country Music,” said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer.

Just as many other genres do, country music is opening its doors up to the rest of the world and creating a global stage for all performers to give it a go if they’ve got a story and a twang. Events like C2C in the U.K. and Ireland and CMC Rocks in Australia are even more so inviting when it comes to international country music.

“By presenting shows like GlobaLive!; participating in events like C2C, Country to Country, in the U.K., Dublin, and Scandinavia; and our ongoing outreach to other international Country Music organizations, we are creating an environment to expand the Country Music brand around the world,” said Trahern.

The 2016 CMA Music Fest begins on June 9 and runs through June 12 in Nashville.
