Jake Owen celebrates the familiar pleasures of a small-town life in his new single, “Homemade,” which just released to country radio.

Filled with heartfelt shoutouts to Sunday suppers, Friday night lights, first loves and favorite mix tapes, the nostalgic midtempo features shimmering guitars and feels relaxed as pair of broken-in jeans – and may even come across a little sleepy on the first spin. But listen closely and that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Its theme takes a clever turn, splitting the hook “homemade” in two to describe how Owen will “always be the man that home made.”

“Home made me love a dirt road / Home made me crave some ice cold / Homemade sweet tea only mama knows how to make / Yeah, homemade / Home made me love a small town / Home made me wanna settle down in a home made / For the two of us, everything I love / Is homemade,” goes the spirit-lifting chorus.

“Homemade” was written by Bobby Pinson, Drew Parker, Jared Mullins and Ben Goldsmith and appears on Owen’s Greetings From … Jake album, following up the Top 10 single “Down to the Honkytonk” and No.1 hit “I Was Jack (You Were Diane).”

Recently, Owen performed the tender fan favorite “Made for You” on the June 3rd episode of The Bachelorette. The Florida native has said he intends to take it easy on tour dates this summer, but still has coast-to-coast concert dates scheduled through September.
