Jana Kramer gets real with a deeply personal new single this week, sharing the hurt behind her husband’s high-profile cheating scandal with “Beautiful Lies.”

The couple have since reconciled and welcomed the birth of their second child, but the track recounts how Kramer felt when the truth finally came out in 2016. Needless to say, “Beautiful Lies” is a gripping emotional ballad, featuring a contemporary classic sound and lyrics which cut straight to the heart. All about feeling worthless and broadsided, Kramer told People.com she felt “like the whole world was just spinning – like everything was just flipped upside down and it was this awful nightmare.

“In that moment, I didn’t want to believe that it was true and so instead I wished I would’ve been told some beautiful lies to cover up what was going on,” she goes on. “With the songs I’m going to release later this year, I want to tell the story from the break to healing.”

“Tell me I’m making this up, that this ain’t for real / Take me back to the night I could feel / Like I was enough, like love was just blind / I’m not ready for the truth to see the light / Make it up, make it pretty, I don’t mind / Tell me beautiful lies,” goes the heart-wrenching chorus.

“Beautiful Lies” is out everywhere now. Kramer was last inside country radio’s Top 10 with 2015s Platinum certified “I Got the Boy.” She and husband Michael Caussin are still together after he sought treatment at a rehabilitation center, and the couple will take their Whine Down with Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin podcast on the road starting April 2nd.
