Jason Aldean Engaged To Brittany Kerr
Country superstar Jason Aldean is officially off the market (again!). The Georgia native proposed to girlfriend Brittany Kerr on Wednesday while visiting the San Diego Zoo, Aldean’s rep confirms to US Weekly.
Kerr shared a photo from their tour of the zoo on Instagram, saying “My man did it again. Today was amazing???? #sandiegozoo #myeverything”
The couple’s engagement comes on the heels of Aldean’s recent Billboard cover story where he acknowledged the backlash he and Kerr have receiving since taking their relationship public earlier this year (the pair first got together in September of 2012 when a then-married Aldean was caught kissing Kerr at a Hollywood bar). “It has been two years of this s—,” Aldean, 37, told Billboard. “Get over it, already! And then when I finally do get enough of it and say something, every newspaper grabs it. And I’m not trying to get in the headlines — I’m just trying to get people to stop running their mouths.”
It’s quite a busy time for Jason Aldean. Up next, he’ll release his new studio album, Old Boots, New Dirt, on October 7.
UPDATE: Although previous reports suggested Aldean popped the question on the couple’s visit to the Zoo, Kerr set the record straight with another Instagram post saying, “We’ve been on cloud nine the past few days!!☁️ My heart has never been more full of happiness and love… Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with this man. So many blessings and memories are in our future and SO thankful I get to share them with him❤️ Thanks for all the support and kind words y’all have given us. #love #foreverandever #itdidnthappenatthezoo #happyhappyhappy” She also shared the below photo, which gave fans a first look at the ring.
