Jason Aldean Headlines Nashville’s Amazon Truck Stop
The intimate pop-up show was for approximately 200 line-haul partners and truckers to celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2019.
By now, Jason Aldean is used to headlining major festivals and the country’s most iconic venues.
But on Monday night (Sept. 9), the ACM Artist of the Decade brought his band back to a club setting by headlining the Amazon Truck Stop in Nashville. The intimate pop-up show was for approximately 200 line-haul partners and truckers to celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2019.
Amazon Music brought out the singer, whose six-song mini-set included the live premiere of his new single “Way Back” from his forthcoming album, 9 (out Nov. 22), along with his biggest hits including “My Kinda Party,” “You Make It Easy” and “She’s Country.”
In a way, Aldean’s former gig as a trucker laid the foundation for his demanding touring schedule today. After every concert on tour, his production caravans through the night to the next gig at the same time Amazon’s overnight truckers drive to deliver customer’s packages on time.
The pop-up truck stop at Nissan Stadium’s parking lot N was hard to miss from Interstate 40 and the Shelby Street Bridge with its over-sized blue Prime logo illuminating the entrances. Inside, guests were treated to high-end food stations that included a jerky bar, nacho buffet, a premium hot dog stand and a wall of Hostess confections.
Amazon hosted the event to recognize partnerships with its broad carrier base made up of thousands of small to large businesses. Amazon will also deliver smiles all week long to those who transport packages as they check-in at Amazon fulfillment centers and sites nationwide.
In the past few years, Amazon’s line-haul and freight network of truck drivers has grown to more than 20,000 branded trailers, 600 line-haul service providers — entrepreneurs who have started their own line-haul companies to transport Amazon packages. To date, the network has created more than 2,100 jobs around the country, which is nearly six new jobs being created daily in local communities. Amazon’s line-haul and freight program will create over 1,500 new jobs during the peak holiday season.
Before the concert, Aldean also made a $25,000 donation to Truckers Against Trafficking – a nonprofit organization that trains truck drivers to recognize and report human trafficking.
