Jennifer Nettles Joins Cast of ‘Chicago’ On Broadway

It’s official – Jennifer Nettles is headed to Broadway!

Nettles, who is best known as half of the award-winning duo Sugarland, announced the exciting news this morning during an appearance on NBC’s Today Show.

“I’m gonna be on Broadway for the first time,” Nettles said with a huge smile on her face.

The Georgia native is set to play the iconic role of Roxie Hart in Chicago beginning February 2, 2015.

When asked if the Broadway stage made her nervous, Nettles said, “This one makes me on fire. This one makes me thrilled.”

Nettles isn’t the first country star to take on Broadway. She joins the likes of superstars such as Reba and Dolly Parton.
